15, 1919. She was a Polish-born German Marxist
political theorist, socialist philosopher, and
revolutionary. She was a theorist of the Social
Democratic Party of the Kingdom of Poland, later
becoming involved in the Social Democratic Party
of Germany, followed by the Independent Social
Democratic Party of Germany. She and hundreds
of others were captured, tortured and killed.

a Polish-French physicist and chemist. She was
a pioneer in the early field of radiology, later
becoming the first two-time Nobel laureate and
the only person with Nobel Prizes in two different
fields of science (physics and chemistry - due
to the effects of sharing, she effectively obtained
1.25 Nobel Prizes). She also became the first
woman appointed to teach at the Sorbonne.

She was born on November 19, 1917 – October
31, 1984. She was Prime Minister of India from
January 19, 1966 to March 24, 1977, and again
from January 14, 1980 until her assassination
on October 31, 1984. She died on her way to
hospital, in her official car, but was not declared
dead till many hours later. She was cremated
on November 3, near Raj Ghat and the place was
called Shakti Sthal. After her death, anti-Sikh
pogroms engulfed New Delhi and spread across
the country, killing thousands and leaving tens
of thousands homeless.
