after the TV series 'The Streets of San Francisco'
from 1972 to 1976. His fortunes changed when
he starred in the 1984 romantic adventure comedy
Romancing the Stone. He starred in Fatal Attraction
with Glenn Close and the film became a world-wide
hit.
He married Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones
on November 18, 2000. She is exactly 25 years
younger than him.

Newton-John to be his co-star in the film. Two

#1 on US and international charts and stood
at the #1 position for nine and seven weeks
respectively on the UK charts. Her solo number
"Hopelessly Devoted To You" was also a hit in
1978.
In 1992 she underwent breast cancer surgery,
from which she recovered. She now actively promotes
public awareness of the importance of early
detection of the disease.
