was born on December 23, 1933. He is the current
Emperor of Japan, the 125th person to hold that
title, according to the traditional order of
succession. He is the world's only reigning
emperor. In Japan, the emperor is never referred
to by his first name, but rather is referred
to simply as tenno heika ("His Majesty the Emperor").
The era of Emperor's reign bears the name "Heisei",
and according to custom he will be renamed Emperor
Heisei ("posthumous name") after his death by
order of the cabinet, in which the name of the
next era will also be established.

September 1966. She is the wife of Prince Akishino,
who is the second son of the Emperor Akihito,
and the Empress Michiko of Japan. The daughter
of a university professor, she became the second
commoner to marry into the imperial family;
her mother-in-law, the Empress, was the first
in 1959. Since 1997, Prince Akishino and Princess
Kiko and their children have maintained a principal
residence on the grounds of the Akasaka Estate
in Motoakasaka, Minato ward in Tokyo. The couple
have two daughters and one son. On September
6, 2006, at 8:27 a.m. (Japan Standard Time),
she gave birth to a baby boy, by Caesarean section.
The child weighed 5 lbs 10 oz at birth. The
child, who will not be named until a ceremony
seven days after his birth, is the first male
heir to be born into the imperial family in
41 years.

The first half was published in serial form
between 1881 and 1883, and then completed as
a book for children in February 1883.
It is about the mischievous adventures of an
animated marionette, and his poor father, a
woodcarver named Geppetto. It is considered
a classic of children's literature and has spawned
many derivative works of art, such as Disney's
classic 1940 animated movie of the same name,
and commonplace ideas, such as a liar's long
nose.

In 1972, she married the actor Bryan Southcombe.
They lived in a ménage à trois with a male model
and had one child, Barnaby, before divorcing
in 1976. Barnaby is now a successful television
director. In 1978, she married the French composer
Jean-Michel Jarre and had one child, the magician
David Jarre. The marriage was dissolved in the
late 1990s when she found out via tabloid newspaper
stories about Jarre's affairs with other women..
